Özbekistan Cumhuriyeti Dışişleri Bakan Yardımcısı Gayrat Fozilov, AB’nin Orta Asya Özel Temsilcisi Terhi Hakala ile görüştü.

 

 

Taraflar, Özbekistan ile AB arasındaki siyasi, ticari, ekonomik, kültürel ve insani alanlardaki etkileşimin geliştirilmesine yönelik mevcut durumu ve beklentileri gözden geçirdi.

 

 

 

 

Taraflar ayrıca “Özbekistan – AB” ve “Orta Asya – AB” formatlarında yaklaşan etkinliklerin organizasyonel yönlerini de ele aldı.

 

 

 

Özbekistan Cumhuriyeti ile Avrupa Birliği arasında Genişletilmiş Ortaklık ve İşbirliği Anlaşmasının erken imzalanmasının gerekliliğine dikkat çektiler.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan met with the EU Special Representative for Central Asia

 

 

 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov met with the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala.

 

 

 

The parties reviewed the current state and prospects for the development of interaction between Uzbekistan and the EU in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

 

 

 

 

 

The sides also discussed the organizational aspects of upcoming events in the “Uzbekistan – EU” and “Central Asia – EU” formats.

 

 

 

 

They noted the need for an early signing of the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union.

On 23 March 2023 in New York on the margins of the United Nations 2023 Water Conference the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Ms. Terhi Hakala.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening political, trade and economic cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint projects.

In addition, during the meeting the parties exchanged views on the issues related to the impact of climate change on water resources in various regions of the world and the prospects for cooperation in the promotion and implementation of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028”.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev receives EU Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala

The President noted that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the further development of strategic partnership with the European Union.

The Head of State conveyed words of gratitude to President of the European Council Charles Michel for his support to our country expressed during the virtual talks held on January 10 and a strong commitment to strengthening cooperation.

At Terhi Hakala’s request, President Tokayev spoke about the “tragic January” events. He said that the Prosecutor General’s Office has been instructed to conduct a thorough and fair investigation of what happened in January’s events. He stressed that the observance of human rights and freedoms is a priority for all branches of government.

The Kazakhstan leader also informed about the plans to modernize the political system and implement a New Economic Course aimed at correcting social imbalances and diversifying the national economy.

President Tokayev reaffirmed his commitment to developing close ties with the European Union in all areas of cooperation and intention to fully implement the agreements reached earlier.

In turn, Terhi Hakala reported on the Brussels’s interest in further developing relations with Kazakhstan. The European diplomat thanked the President for a thorough and useful exchange of views. She assured that the European Union fully supports President Tokayev’s reform policy and is interested in the prosperous and stable Kazakhstan.
