Berat Kandili, which teaches and reminds us to renew our consciousness of servitude to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and to organize our lives with the responsibility of a believer, is the harbinger and good news that we are approaching the last of the three months, Ramadan, the climate of mercy, abundance and forgiveness.

These nights, each of which is a star of knowledge and worship, devotion and supplication, and to which our people feel great excitement to reach, are important periods of time in which we come closer, unite, bring feelings of unity and togetherness, friendship and brotherhood to the fore, find peace with intense spiritual feelings, and hearts find satisfaction through the remembrance of God.

I believe that the concepts that revive people and the entire universe, such as right, law, justice, compassion, mercy and wisdom, through principles such as a deep and deep-rooted historical consciousness, a strong and rich civilization consciousness and the concept of existence that comes to life in the principle of ‘We love the created for the sake of the creator’, will further strengthen the inner peace and unity that exists in our society on the occasion of these days.

These nights and months, when prayers are made only to Allah, the Lord of the Universe and closer to us than our jugular vein, when hearts are in prayer to benefit from his infinite mercy, are a great opportunity for us to remember once again our duties and responsibilities towards our families, our children, our country, our ummah and all of humanity.

On this blessed night, we should take refuge in Allah, who resurrects the earth after death and is capable of everything, and pray to Him to make our hearts determined to do good, open our hands and hearts to everyone we can reach, advise the truth and patience for the strengthening of peace and brotherhood, congratulate our elderly, sick and friends on their holy days and receive their prayers. Let us not forget that competing in good deeds and increasing good deeds are the most important conditions for establishing social peace and tranquility.

I hope that prayers made with a sound heart will be instrumental in the salvation of the oppressed and victimized people of the world, the increase of welfare in our homeland and all over the world, the preservation of our national and spiritual heritage that gives us our identity, and the increase of science, wisdom, knowledge and culture that call humanity to life.

“January 20th is, on the one hand, a day of mourning for the massacre carried out by Armenians supported by Russian Red Army units against Azerbaijan’s desire for independence, and on the other hand, a day of glory and honor when the seeds of Azerbaijan’s independence were sown.

While the massacre committed by the Red Army in Baku in January 1990 was written as a black mark in the history of humanity, the desire of the Azerbaijani Turks for independence and freedom resulted in an everlasting victory.

On that cold winter night, 133 of our brothers were martyred. But these and similar massacres were not enough to suppress the freedom and independence struggle of the Azeri Turks and to extinguish this fire.

We respectfully commemorate our martyrs who raised the three-colored star and crescent flag to the skies of Azerbaijan with their blood. It is our duty not to forget and not to let others forget the 20th of January that we personally witnessed in recent history.

We pray to God for mercy on our patriotic brothers, men and women, old and young, who shielded their bodies for the homeland and who sleep under the crescent and star in the Martyrs’ Lane today, who paved the way for the independence of the Azerbaijani Turks, and we bow respectfully in their spiritual presence. May their souls rest in peace!

In our country, January 10 is celebrated every year as “Working Journalists Day” since the adoption of Law No. 212 on January 10, 1961, which provided social and economic rights to journalists and was a turning point in the Turkish press.

Journalists, who practice an important profession that includes values ​​such as reporting accurate news, impartiality, objectivity, and respect for private life and personal rights in order to inform the public, become the voice of the nation’s conscience by conveying events to the public impartially with a principled broadcasting approach and ensuring that citizens receive accurate and complete information, which is their most natural right.

Along with our national press, our local press, which keeps us informed about the events and developments taking place in our beautiful province and region, works successfully by working day and night with a sense of responsibility under all circumstances and conditions for the sake of the society’s freedom to receive news.

Journalism is a profession that requires great sacrifice and is performed under difficult conditions. Our journalists, who are chasing news at all hours of the day to inform the public, are also performing an important public duty while working with great devotion and a sense of responsibility to enlighten citizens about developing events under difficult conditions. We are experiencing the peace and happiness of reaching another Regaib Kandil, the harbinger of the holy month of Ramadan, in the spiritual climate of the three months, which are the doors of mercy and forgiveness that open one after the other.

This night, which our Noble Prophet expressed his blessing by saying, “O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Shaban blessed for us and let us reach the month of Ramadan,” is an exceptional night when our spiritual feelings reach their peak, when we are honored with divine mercy and forgiveness, and when we attain peace and joy.

We should take advantage of the blessed months, which are a time when blessings, abundance and beauty are experienced intensely, prayers and wishes are accepted, and feelings of cooperation and solidarity reach their highest levels, and by removing the conflicts and resentments among us, we should open our hands and hearts to everyone we can reach, and strive to re-emerge our human virtues.

The Sarıkamış Operation, which took place 110 years ago on December 22, 1914, is one of the most important pages of Turkish history. The Sarıkamış Martyrs are the immortal epic of an army that rushed to duty for sacred values ​​such as homeland, nation, flag and freedom. In the Sarıkamış Operation, which the Ottoman army launched to liberate the lands under Russian occupation in World War I, 78 thousand of our soldiers were martyred, 60 thousand of whom froze to death.

Our heroic ancestors, who displayed an extraordinary example of courage and fought until their last breaths without hesitation despite the adverse conditions in Sarıkamış, have earned the distinguished place they deserve in the hearts of our great nation. We have not forgotten our heroes, and we will not forget them.

We, who are members of a civilization that has a deadly understanding of death, consider giving our life for our country, flag and faith to be superior to living. Indeed, being a “martyr” is the highest rank in the hearts and prayers of each of us.

The history written by our brave heroes who reached this sacred position in Sarıkamış also played a very important role in the re-establishment of our state. Today, we continue to be the hope of all the oppressed and victimized in this country that those nameless heroes paid the price for with their lives and entrusted to us. With the inspiration we receive from our heroic martyrs, each of whom is a separate epic, we will continue to make these lands the land of goodness and truth and to protect them at the cost of our lives against any invasion, threat and negative attempt from any dark force.

On this occasion, I remember with gratitude, thanks and mercy all our heroes who have reached the rank of martyrdom in every inch of our heart, especially our martyrs in Sarıkamış.

On the 751st death anniversary of Sufi Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi, President Özlü emphasized the “7 Advices” that form the basis of the Mevlevi understanding and have a great place in Sufism, and included the following views in his message: “751 years have passed since Hz. Mevlana, who has a very special place in Turkish history, Islamic history, and Sufism history, reunited with his beloved. Our culture, enriched by his teachings, and his Mesnevi, which emerged with his endless love and affection for the Prophet and Almighty Allah, have been the greatest proof of how deep his submission was. We clearly see in the 7 advices he gave to humanity that loving the created, being modest, learning what you do not know, and reflecting what you have learned in your life are also ways for us to get closer to the Creator. There will be benefit and goodness in everything that humanity builds with love. Our lands are home to the Sufi understanding he devoted himself to and the works he produced, it is obvious how important a civilization we continue to live in. We have to do more than our best to pass on our rich culture to future generations by possessing this wealth and this treasure.

This is our common responsibility and duty. On this occasion, I respectfully commemorate Hz. Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi on the 751st anniversary of his death and wish him to rest in peace. I hope that the Mevlana Week, in which we commemorate Şeb-i Arus, will be a blessing for humanity.”
