ASFA HOLDING Chairman of the Board of Directors, Philanthropist and Businessman Asaf ATASOY, published a message on the occasion of March 8, International Women’s Day.
ASFA HOLDING Board Chairman Asaf ATASOY included the following statements in his message;
As one of the results of the increasing importance given to women’s rights worldwide, the United Nations General Assembly accepted the celebration of March 8 as International Women’s Day in 1977.
Women, whose status has always been debated in different civilizations and cultures throughout history, have always been in the position they deserve, at the center of the family and society, as mothers and wives in the history of the Great Turkish Nation.
Turkish women have given unprecedented struggles to make these lands their homeland, and have not only sent their children, whom they raised with love for their country, flag and nation, to the front, but have also fought against the enemy themselves when necessary. So much so that many Turkish women such as Nene Hatun, Kara Fatma and Şerife Bacı have taken their places on the list of heroes of our glorious history.
In our country, women’s rights have been given importance since the past, and in recent years, important steps have been taken to strengthen the equality of opportunity between women and men and to develop women’s rights. In this context; the phrase “Women and men have equal rights. The state is obliged to ensure that this equality is put into practice” was added to Article 10 of our Constitution, and our country has become an example to many countries, especially in terms of equality of opportunity.
Our women’s rise to the position they deserve in society and their confident approach to the future play a key role in the success of the generations they raise with endless love and tolerance. As mothers, the effort and sacrifice they make to raise our children, who are the guarantee of our future, with morality, decency and manners so that they become useful members of society is beyond all appreciation.
With these feelings and thoughts; I celebrate International Women’s Day and offer my deepest respects to our women who give the love and compassion in their hearts without expecting anything in return, with the aim of making us who we are.
